What is all the noise?

I had been hearing about the author and this book for years. I was visiting a friend and found the book on her shelf, so I sat down and read it. So many people name this book as something everyone must read but I am confused as to what it is that people see in it.
It seems to me that a lot of her early adult life was quite disfunctional and she
assumes that everyone else nust have been also. Some people have had a very
normal life; they did what they were supposed to do and stayed out of trouble--so why put her mess on us and assume that we are also as messed up?
She says her work is based on "A Course in Mircales" so why not tell people to read ACIM instead, rather than now trying to reintepret it as if she has some inside knowledge. The Bible has been distorted by people who think that they know better. Stop trying to reinterpret; let the original message speak for itself!
I have heard her on HayHouse Radio and she was the most obnoxious person I had ever heard. A caller was calling in for advice and Marianne wanted the caller to give her every little detail of the dirt of what had happened--is this a Spiritual approach to anything--making a distressed caller relive every little dirty detail of something troubling her?
If you are really intrigued about this book--find it in a library or better still look inside yourself for answers rather than living through Marianne.

Years ago I became aware of "A Return to Love"..............back in the days when I first came to know the Course................I am now in a group of women who are coming to know the Course, too, and we will be working with Marianne's book as well.

It has been about 20 years since I went through A Course in Miracles. A Return to Love is a great book with which to re-engage the higher mind and the heart in the world of miracles in which we live. What I really like about Marianne's style of writting is that she reveals her flaws and struggles openly while still pointing to a higher road. It is refreshing and inspiring to see someone, who's day to day life embraces the challenges that we all go through, take the opportunity to model the heart and mind of what being "our brother's keeper" is truely about. It's a great read, and the margins of my book are filled with thoughts, notes and insights that came to me along the way. Thanks Marianne!
